Sony has unveiled the Bravia 2 II TV for the US and Canada. This is the entry-level model for the 2025 Bravia range in these two markets, which is topped by the recently revealed Bravia 8 II TV. It will be available in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch sizes.
The Bravia 2 II is a 4K model with an LCD display and a direct LED backlight. The TV has a native 60Hz resolution with near 4K upscaling thanks to 4K XR-Reality Pro and support for IMAX Enhanced, HDR10 and HLG. Unfortunately, the company has not disclosed the typical brightness level.
The Sony Bravia 2 II uses Google TV with support for Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice commands and wireless screencasting via Google Cast or Apple AirPlay 2. PlayStation 5 users get enhanced gaming with features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode. Plus, there is the Game Menu for easy access settings, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and HDMI 2.1 ports. There are also two built-in 10W speakers, supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The pricing and release date of the Sony Bravia TV 2 II have yet to be announced. However, these details are expected to be shared in the next few months. As a rough indication, the 43-inch 2024 Sony Bravia 3 TV retails for $599.99 (curr. $498 at Amazon).
